3. Indonesian earthquake kills 160+ and injures hundreds
A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck the main Indonesian island of Java, killing at least 162 people and injuring over 300. The quake struck a poorly constructed area that is prone to landslides. (BBC News)
4. At least 5 dead in Colorado Springs LGBTQ+ nightclub shooting
Five people were killed and at least 18 injured in a Saturday night shooting at the Club Q nightclub in Colorado Springs. One suspect is in custody following the attack. (NBC News)

TikTok star Charli D'Amelio and partner Mark Ballas won the Dancing with the Stars competition Monday night. The pair started with a perfect-scoring jive routine followed up by a freestyle dance, tying at the top of the leaderboard with The Bachelorette star Gabby Windey and her partner. Charli emerged victorious when the judges' scores were combined with fan votes. (E! News)
8. New "beard chain" record set in Wyoming
On the sidelines of the National Beard and Moustache Championships in Wyoming this past Saturday, participants gathered and clipped their beards together, creating a chain that was reportedly 150 feet long. This breaks the Guinness World Record of 62 feet, 6 inches. (AP News)
9. Fans outraged after Taylor Swift Ticketmaster fiasco
After the Ticketmaster website crashed during a ticket pre-sale for Taylor Swift's upcoming Eras tour, many college-aged fans are debating if the company should be shut down. All tickets sold out during the pre-sale, and tickets were quickly listed on resale websites for often tens of thousands of dollars. (FOX News)
10. 10 tons of meth discovered on Mexican shrimp boat
During a Tuesday patrol, the Mexican navy discovered 10 tons of meth aboard a shrimp boat off the country's western coast. The boat was detected off the coast of Sinaloa, and upon discovery, the crew intentionally opened valves to sink the ship. (AP News)
11. NASA's Orion moon ship makes progress in lunar exploration
NASA reports that its unmanned Orion capsule is performing even better than expected after being launched from a rocket Monday. NASA managers are thrilled by the accomplishment that will pave the way toward the first piloted moon mission in 2024. (CBS News)
12. US professor found dead after kayaking accident in Mexico
The body of Yeon-Su Kim, a professor at Northern Arizona University, has been discovered after she and her husband were reported missing on Saturday. The couple took a kayaking trip in Mexico's Sonora State on Thanksgiving Day. Authorities are still searching for the husband's body. (CNN News)
13. Homeless camps being moved out of the central Arkansas metro area
The Arkansas Department of Transportation is starting to relocate homeless camps in Little Rock and North Little Rock. People without homes were notified to leave the metro area due to safety concerns. Though the ARDOT is working to provide these groups with a new place to go, there are not many options available. 14. Trevor Donovan under fire for Great American Family network deal
90210 star and recent Dancing with the Stars participant Trevor Donovan has received backlash after accepting a deal to work with the Great American Family network. The network, run by Candace Cameron Bure of Full House, will be fully faith-based and "keep traditional marriage at the core." Donovan says that people should "be and believe what they want, as long as they are kind and accepting of others." Donovan finds Bure to be kind and passionate about her faith. (PEOPLE News)
15. Veganism on the rise in Japan
Vegans in Japan can now find a much wider variety of foods to fit their lifestyle. More Japanese people are becoming health-conscious and aiming to eliminate high-fat foods from their diet. Numerous companies and restaurants now offer vegan reproductions of popular food items. (The Japan Times)
