    Police recently found the body of Eliza Fletcher who was kidnapped while jogging on Friday, Sept. 2. Cleotha Abston faces murder and kidnapping charges for the abduction. (NBC News)

    Friday night, Serena Williams walked out of the U.S. Open for the last time after losing against Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia. However, the gathering was celebratory with fans cheering all the way. (TIME)

  6. Instagram fined by Irish agency after data privacy violation
    On Monday, Ireland’s Data Protection Commission decided to fine Instagram 405 million euros after misusing minors’ personal information. The investigation began after discovering that teenagers’ contact information was displayed on their accounts once users switched to business profiles. (AP News)

  7. Justin Bieber cancels his world tour with 70 shows remaining
    Bieber announced the cancellation of his Justice World Tour after nearly 6 months on the road. Bieber says that he will take a break from touring until further notice to make his health a priority. (TMZ)

  8. Escaped bull dashes through Israeli city into office building
    Monday morning, a bull roamed the streets of Lod, Israel, after escaping from its pen. The bull ran into an office building and evaded its pursuers for half an hour before being captured. (US News)

  9. Venezuelan armed forces make the country’s largest marijuana bust in a decade
    Members of Venezuela’s armed forces intercepted a ship Saturday that was carrying nearly 3 tons of marijuana and 18 pounds of cocaine. Over 40 tons of illegal drugs have been seized so far this year in the South American country. (ABC News)

  11. Arkansas legislators support a waiver program for children and adults with disabilities
    An Arkansas legislative committee aims to amend the Community and Employment Supports Home and Community Based Waiver that will allow Arkansasans with developmental and learning disabilities to stay in their homes instead of an institution. This waiver would also allow guardians of those with disabilities to be paid after undergoing training. (Arkansas Democrat-Gazette)

    Educator Jessica Aryee assumed the role of Magnolia High’s principal for the current school year. She says that her passion for education got her the job. (Magnolia Reporter)

  13. Two fans were removed from the US Open after one gave the other a haircut in the stands
    During Nick Kyrgios’s and Karen Khachanov’s quarterfinal tennis match at the US Open, two fans were escorted from the property after one fan buzzed another’s hair in the stands. (AP News)

  14. South Korean typhoon causes flooding: seven reported dead in a parking garage
    Approximately ten people died because of Typhoon Hinnamnor that raged through southern South Korea on Tuesday. Seven of these deaths were reported after waters flooded a parking garage in Pohang. (CNN)

  15. Japan’s Kumamoto Prefecture brings back its mascot to boost tourism after COVID-19 Authorities in the Kyushu region of Japan are bringing back Kumamoto Prefecture’s mascot Kumamon, a wide-eyed black bear, to boost overseas tourism in the area once border restrictions are lessened. The region is also creating Kumamon and bear-inspired attractions throughout the area. (The Japan Times)
